The Down Under Guide

Traveling to somewhere new is always exciting.  Last month I got to go to Australia for the first time and it was absolutely amazing.  I went to Melbourne, Tasmania, Sydney, and some places in between.  Here’s a little guide of what you should check out and eat while you’re there.  Make sure you pack a P. Melbourne

Sight Seeing: 

The National Gallary of Victoria 

The Royal Botanical Gardens

Shopping:

Fitzroy is an inner city of Melbourne which is a great place to grab a meal and shop for local brands or vintage shops.  Walking there and back is a great way to see everything that this alternative neighborhood has to offer. 

Food: 

Kappo – Amazing five or eight-course Japanese meal

Tipo 00 – Fresh pasta bar

South Melbourne Night Market

Drive To:

Make sure you take the 2 hour Great Ocean Road drive and stop for a picnic at Wye River and pick up delicious snacks from their General Store.  

Tasmania

Sight Seeing:

Freycinet National Park

Mona: Museum of Old and New Art is a very impressive museum in Hobart.  It also has amazing pavilions you can stay at with fantastic service.  

Food: 

Franklin 

Sydney

Sights:

Sydney Opera House 

Royal Botanical Garden – It’s next to the Sydney Harbour which is great to walk around and have a meal by the sea.  

Food: 

Gilders KS – Perfect spot for breakfast

Mr. Wong – Best pecking duck

Nomad – Quintessential Australian farm to table restaurant

Drive to: 

Bondi beach and make sure to walk all the way to Bronte beach to swim in the natural rock pool.  On your way back to Bondi, stop by Bondi Icebergs Club for the best beach lunch.
