The Extravagant Marchesa

When we started discussing the “Curiosities” collection, Marchesa Luisa Casati immediately popped into my head.  The eccentric and extravagant Italian countess was a patron of the arts and muse to many artists in the early twentieth century.  A femme fetal known for eccentricities, she wanted to be a living work of art.  Often dressed ornately she captured many artists and literary figures such as Man Ray, Cecil Beaton, and Michel Georges Michel.  Many of her photos taken by Man Ray made me imagine her in our upcoming caftans from noon piled up with Sophia 203’s charms.
